I know from my own journey of forgiveness how much freedom is in it. You can find freedom in forgiving others today! It releases an abundance of negative emotions and you are able to feel healthier emotionally and mentally.

Sometimes we think that if we forgive others it means they are getting off scott-free and by us harbouring feelings of unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment we are punishing them – giving them what they deserve. But if we think about ourselves and all the mistakes we have made, we can feel empathy for others – even for those who have hurt us.

God doesn’t give us what we deserve for our sins – death – instead He sent His son Jesus to die for our sins and gave us the ultimate gift of eternal life with Him. This is why we need to embrace forgiveness. We need to remember that we are all human and we all make mistakes; forgiving others does not take away the pain we have felt but it does allow us to heal from our pain and hurt.
